Vinu J. Abraham, P.E., CEO
CEO and Partner of HTL, Vinu J. Abraham has overseen tremendous growth for the company since he was hired in 1994 as general manager.
A licensed professional engineer, Vinu has built a reputation among clients and industry agencies and professional groups alike for his knowledge and understanding of technical requirements. He is highly sought after by clients to help their products meet and exceed the stringent windborne debris requirements of South Florida. This fact was validated when Vinu was named Glass Magazine’s 20 most influential people under the age of 40 in 2008. Vinu has served as the “voice” of the protective glazing industry and has appeared on dozens of national and local television news segments to discuss how properly certified products can help save lives and protect property. His appearances include the Today Show, the Discovery Channel, the Weather Channel, Fox Morning Show and many others.
Vinu has earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University. He wrote his master’s thesis on Missile Impact Resistance of Window Glass Constructions.
Vinu is involved in ASTM, AAMA, PGC, ICC and NFRC. He has served as chairman of the Civil Engineering Advisory Council at Texas Tech and is a member of the Structural Engineering Institute. His commitment to continuous improvement has led HTL to invest in high‐tech test equipment at each of our four test facilities. His vision of personal service to clients has helped position HTL to excel as a company and build an extremely loyal customer base.
Jeff McGovern - Operations Manager, FL Office
Jeff joined HTL as Operations Manager in January 2011 after working many years with Trainor Glass Company, one of the top five largest glazing and curtain wall contractors in the United States. Jeff has hands on experience in all facets of a glazing manufacturer operations and the construction industry. His close working relationships with architects, engineers, and subcontractors on many multi-million dollar glazing projects throughout South Florida provides HTL with a unique advantage in achieving the highest value and quality in all testing projects.
In his role, Jeff is responsible for ensuring HTL continues achieving its mission of providing the highest level of service in all aspects of laboratory operations including quality, safety, security and technical excellence. Jeff is a recognized leader in the glazing industry and is known for his customer centric approach, fenestration acumen, team-building insight and strong operational management skills.
Jeff has a wealth of experience in the fabrication and installation virtually every architectural application of commercial fenestration products. His career has been devoted to overseeing the design, testing, manufacturing and installation of architectural glazing products including entrances, storefronts, curtain walls, windows, sliding doors and sloped glazing for the commercial construction industry. His knowledge and know-how is a critical asset respective to the success of HTL’s customer’s projects.

Kristin A. Norville, E.I.T. - Operations Engineer, FL Office
Kristin joined HTL in 2007 after completing a B.S. in Civil Engineering degree at Purdue University. Before joining HTL full time, Kristin had interned for three consecutive summers at each of HTL’s state-of-the-art test facilities. Her skills include a keen ability to rapidly achieve organizational integration, assimilate job requirements, and employ new methodologies to increase quality and efficiency for HTL clients.
José E. Colón, E.I. - Operations Manager, GA Office
Jose’ has been with HTL since 1996 and serves as the Operations Manager of HTL's Georgia facility in Lithia Springs. After completing a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University, he joined HTL as Test Engineer. His assignments have included creating test plans and managing field testing, quality control, lab accreditation, and test and media demonstrations. Jose's technical and business skills combined with his firsthand knowledge of the numerous companies he has assisted enables him to play a key role in supporting HTL's clients in the ever- changing environment of the architectural testing industry.
Jose' participates in AAMA, where he is involved in creating and updating codes and standards that affect the fenestration testing industry.
Lucas A Turner, P.E. - Staff Engineer, TN Office
Lucas joined HTL in 2009 to direct HTL's Thermal Services Division in Hillsboro, Tennessee bringing more than 12 years of experience in engineering, fenestration product design and development, code compliance and project management. He has more than 10 years of experience in the glazing industry from PGT Industries, Inc.
Lucas has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida and an MBA from Webster University. He is a licensed professional engineer in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
Lucas is active in ASTM International and the NFRC.
